Sherri Ridgway
Sherri moved to Long Beach Island when she was in her early teenage years. She always enjoyed the excitement of living at the shore and has respectfully been referred to by her husband, Don, as an “Island Girl”.
After she married Don, they moved to Little Egg Harbor with her children, Nanci, age 22, and Pete, age 19. They love gardening, camping, decorating their home, outdoor activities, and swimming.
Her eager willingness to help others is what has served to progress her professional career to date. For almost three years now she has been employed by The Health Center at Galloway, a Sub-Acute Rehab and Long Term Care facility. She started in the position of Director of Human Resources and was promoted to Director of Admissions and Marketing, where she assists residents and their families to make the transition from a hospital stay to short term rehabilitation and sometimes the hard adaptation to Long Term Care.
Recently, Sherri started her own Amputee Support Group, “One Step at a Time”, to encourage and educate fellow amputees to adjust to this new life style. The monthly meetings are every second Wednesday of each month at The Health Center at Galloway. Now she is seeking ways to raise funds for individuals to afford the high cost of a prosthetic device. After all, a limb is not a luxury! Sherri’s enthusiastic motivation, determination, and strength are a true inspiration to her family and friends.
