Well all of this can be resolved by putting yourself out there and getting people to recognize who you are and what you do. Many people, especially small business owners absolutely love what they do for a living and they put their heart, soul, money, blood, sweat and tears into running their businesses. However when it comes time to market their product or service they have a tendency to lack in the department of networking or socializing. It can be rough for a small business owner to leave their job to go to a “fun” networking function for a couple of hours, especially in the evening because of the other obligations all of us have with family, friends and even our own personal time.

My advice to all of you women in business is to GO OUT AND MEET NEW PEOPLE. Trust me it will be worth it and you will come away feeling more motivated and inspired, just as I know I do every time. Not to mention you will make some wonderful contacts as well as gain potential business. Every meeting is different and sometimes there will be people who aren’t right for reciprocal referring however you never know who they know and that is the key. Just remember to be willing to speak to new people because everyone is there for similar reasons and they are willing to share their resources with you because they know you may have resources to share with them. This is especially true at the NJAWBO meetings.

The way our NJAWBO meetings are structured you have ample time to network before and after the main event. Everyone gets a chance to talk about their business and then one of our members gets to speak about their business in front of everyone for 5 minutes. Afterward we have top of the line speakers to educate women in business on how to successfully run their companies whether it is through finances, insurance, marketing or branding etc.

If you are looking for a relaxing yet business focused evening with great food then this is the place to be. You will get to share your insight as well as gain insight on a variety of topics. Our board is working hard to make sure that we have expert speakers for each month in 2009 so you will be fully prepared and well educated on the different business decisions you will have to make now and in the future.

Between our loyal members, the opportunities to become part of our leadership team, and the other great benefits I hope that you will make this part of your monthly calendar. So please come out and join us at our events on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at the Greate Bay Country Club in Somers Point from 5:30-8:30pm.
