Donna Frei

At an early age, Donna Frei was already certain that she would pursue a career that revolved around helping people. While still a high school student in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Donna’s mother encouraged her to volunteer as a candy striper at nearby Abington Hospital, so she could put her unique brand of caring and people skills to good use.

Although the adorably striped uniform has long since been retired, Donna has continued in her dedication to helping people as a medical imaging technician for the last 25 years. Donna is now a board-certified CT Scan Technologist at the Nazha Cancer Center, where she has been a valued team member since this state-of-the-art facility opened its doors in Northfield, New Jersey in the summer of 2008.

Donna currently resides in Egg Harbor Township with her two teenage sons, Matthew and Brandon, one dog and four cats. Donna’s favorite pastime is cheering from the sidelines at Matthew’s lacrosse matches and Brandon’s baseball games. She proudly calls herself their #1 fan.

Lisa Bee

Lisa grew up in Ventnor and loves the sand, surf, and peaceful lifestyle of the Jersey shore. After college, she returned to New Jersey and successfully pursued her career in fashion and business management. She is currently employed at the Knit Wit in Margate and also enjoys working in the fitness industry as a certified spin instructor at the Milton and Betty Katz Jewish Community Center. Lisa is married and has enjoyed raising her three beautiful children in the same area where she grew up.

In June 2002, Lisa’s husband Brian was diagnosed with CLL, a chronic incurable form of Leukemia. As a wife and mother of three small children, the diagnosis was devastating and simply unacceptable. Within a year, with the help of caring friends, loving family, and a strong community, Lisa developed Spin 4 the Cure and successfully held her first event. Since her very humble beginnings, her event has gone on to raise over $200,000 for cancer research, bringing hope not just to her family but also to all families that have been afflicted by cancer.

Lisa is currently the LLS volunteer of the year and continues to be inspired by the strength and courage of cancer patients and their families.

Lisa understands the costs of cancer well. In April 2007, her sister Anntonia Palladino passed away at age 47 after a four year battle with cancer. Lisa and her family formed a scholarship fund for students touched by cancer at the Richard Stockton College of NJ in her memory. It is Lisa’s mission that no family suffer this type of loss and she hopes you will join her at Mainland Fitness in Linwood New Jersey on June 6th and 7th, 2009 for Spin 4 the Cure and a 5k race and walk to raise money for cancer research and patient care in South Jersey.
