In these times of a strug­gling economy, NJAWBO continues our commitment to help NJ women business owners maintain and grow their busi­nesses. We are fortunate to have one chapter right here in our back yards for both Atlantic and Cape May counties where we can all work together and help our local community thrive. More than ever it is very important to build personal relationships because in business as the saying goes, it’s not just what you know and who you know but also how well you know them. When you have a database of contacts that you know and trust and they have reciprocal feelings, it will be much easier for you to give refer­rals as well as receive them.

Through going to NJAWBO meetings every month for the last two years, I have learned so much about people’s personali­ties, how to network efficiently, speaking publicly and proper etiquette in various situations. This is all on top of meeting fabulous entrepreneurs, commu­nity leaders and successful busi­ness owners in our community. I personally have built long lasting relationships with people that I may not have met if it weren’t for this organization.

By joining NJAWBO you are not just a part of our local chapter but you are also a part of all the chapters. You will have a new family of women in the same boat as you who can help you with the different stages of success in which you want to achieve. If you have never been to one of our meetings before, I urge you to come out to one or even two meetings to get an idea of what you are missing out on. It only took one meeting for me and I knew I was in the right place.

The mission of NJAWBO is that we are dedicated to the suc­cess of New Jersey women busi­ness owners. We help you grow by providing the best learning and collaborative environment through all stages of business development. For this up com­ing year be on the look out for some excellent speakers on some great topics such as Money and Taxes, Protecting Yourself & Your Business, Insurance, and Marketing & Planning. Our board is working hard to make sure that we have expert speakers for each month in 2009 so you will be fully prepared and well educated on the different busi­ness decisions you will have to make now and in the future.

So please come out and join us at our events on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at the Greate Bay Country Club in Somers Point from 5:30-8:30pm.
