In an age where “googling” and “being googled” is part of our everyday vocabulary, it’s amazing that there are still businesses that don’t have an online presence and are still asking themselves the question “Do I really need a website?”
Virtually every day a new large company or corporation is announcing their brand new site on the Web, and a lot of smaller companies make their appearance as well. When asked why they want to be on the Web, practically everyone that has taken the initiative and has invested in a website will have the same answer: “It’s a fantastic business tool.”
Availability
Even if your business is small and you’re not planning on selling online, a well-crafted website is essential for any organization. By having a website - customers, potential employees, corporate partners and investors can quickly and easily find out more about your business using the internet. They can get background information about your company, how you can be reached, where you are located, what you have to offer, why your service/product is unique, and what’s new in your company. A website allows them to further investigate their options and see if your company, services or products are the “best fit” for them. With the growing popularity of Google and other search engines, more people rely on internet queries than they rely on the Yellow pages. A potential customer might look online for the product or the service that you offer and a website will put you in the running with others on the internet and give your company more credibility.
Business Image
Your business image is vital to the success of your company. For small and medium-sized businesses, the internet has leveled the playing field when it comes to competing with bigger companies. With a well-designed site, your operation can project the image and professionalism of a much larger organization.
You can use your website to showcase everything you have to offer and placing your website address on everything that comes into contact with the public is a great way to enhance your marketing and your business image.
An online presence shows that your company is forward thinking and up-to-date with the latest business trends. It’s also an effective signal to potential customers that you take things seriously and are concerned with their growing needs.
Convenience
The Internet is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and your website will be conveniently accessible as well. Even when the main office is closed, potential and current customers or investors will be able to visit your website and get the information they need. They can also submit inquiries any time of the day.
For those who are considering getting an online presence, I suggest that you go for it. You have nothing to lose and a lot to gain. A website will give you the opportunity to communicate with potential clients and customers that you may not yet be servicing as well as current customers.
But it’s not enough that you just have a website. You must have a professional-looking site if you want to be taken seriously. Your website may be the first chance you have at making a good impression and if it is not aesthetically pleasing or hard to navigate, you’ll lose potential customers or clients and your chance at making a good first impression will be lost. Designing your own website is not advisable unless you have some experience in web design, otherwise its best to seek the help of a professional web designer.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS
"We the staff of the Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority felt that the redesign of our website was going to be a major task due to our limited knowledge of web design and the poor condition that our site was in at that time. As a result, we put the redesign off for quite some time. Looking back over our experience while working with Digital Art Station, our concerns proved meaningless. Digital Art Station brought everything that we needed to the table. They offered quality, expertise and knowledge that enabled our experience to be a pleasurable one."
