We can also utilize the existing stones that are in your jewelry and use them to re-create a beautiful fresh new design that you’ll be delighted to wear. It’s not easy to fit a square peg into a round hole, but many times we can create beautiful pieces of jewelry to fit your existing stones utilizing the latest CAD-CAM technology. This is a computer program that we use to create a perfect 3 dimensional image of a piece of jewelry, then the computer goes on to create a full model of the item so you can actually see and feel the model before the jewelry goes into manufacturing! With this computer program, the design options are endless. We have made everything from copying a design from a picture, to making customized school rings and sport championship rings.
Perhaps you just have to have an existing piece that we have in stock or need to trade up that 1 carat diamond you have to a 2 ½ carat diamond that you’ve always dreamed of, and we can do that also. It is always more cost effective to use what you have as opposed to trading in your jewelry outright and going for something different, but it is still much better to free up your old jewelry that you’ll never wear again, and trade it in towards a new piece of jewelry that you’ll enjoy than just leaving in a box for another 20 years while it collects dust.
Some of our clients come in with diamonds that are chipped or broken, and in many cases we can re-cut the diamond and bring it back to its original beauty. Our diamond cutting services are limited to what size diamond that you bring us in, because you will lose some weight in the re-cutting process. So if you have a ½ carat diamond that needs to be re-cut, it probably wouldn’t be cost effective when you factor in the cutting cost and the loss of weight. If it is a different shaped diamond you’re looking for, you can also trade your diamond in towards a new one. You must remember that certain shape diamonds tend to go in and out of favor, while others are more in demand. An example of this would be a marquise cut diamond. In 1990, marquise diamonds were among the most popular. While they are still beautiful, the demand has dropped on such diamonds, so you would not get as much for that as say a round brilliant cut diamond.
Again, the most important thing to remember is that you may not get what you paid for it, but over the years your jewelry did retain some of its value. So free up that value and trade up to something new! You can also sell anything outright that you have no use for. You may have an old piece of jewelry that can’t be used for anything other than scrap, so why not convert that old piece to cash? Diamond and precious metal prices are at an all time high, and there’s no telling how long it will last. You can call us or e-mail us for a free no obligation consultation on what can be done with your existing jewelry. All transactions are discreet and professional and appointments are recommended.
