Students will become familiar with throwing, coiling and hand building, all terms used when taking a ceramic class at the Ventnor City Cultural Art Center. You will learn how to use a pottery wheel, make items by coil, or hand build, where you sculpt your own custom designed item out of a simple lump of clay. After selecting the glaze of your choice, you’re item will then be fired in a kiln, on-site.
Courses are spread out over a period of 6-8 weeks; however, most students choose to keep attending classes to advance their skills. Taking time out of our everyday rush of activities and commitments is fulfilling, therapeutic and addictive, as one brings out and confirms the inner artist within himself or herself.
Sinking your hands into a lump of clay not your cup of tea? The Cultural Arts Center offers several other exciting classes geared toward your relaxation and enjoyment.
