As the New Year begins we resolve to change many things in our busy lives. There is one item that ought to be on the top of this list that we often ignore. One that lies in the realm of, “it can wait until another day”. That is the issue of speaking with our elder loved ones about the care and needs they may develop as they age.

We learn respect from a very young age. We would never dream to intrude and ask our elders about their finances and how they view the end of their life. One of the greatest gifts you can give to each other is an open frank discussion on these matters.
Oft times when working in the field of long term care we so frequently see families in crisis. Their loved one has had an unexpected

hospital stay or a change in mental or physical abilities and is not ready or able to return home to the level of functioning they had prior to their hospital stay. Families are asked on the spot to immediately choose a facility to send their loved one. All of a sudden you are sending off your loved one to an unknown place and entrusting their care in the hands of strangers.

We, at Royal Suites Healthcare and Rehabilitation, urge you to come and get to know us before you need us. The quality of care and surroundings will be evident. Reminiscent of a fine hotel, offering a host of amenities, luxurious

rooms, flat screen televisions, phone service, internet access , patient services representatives to see to their needs, and most importantly, unparalleled care and comfort.

There are three distinct units located on three separate floors offering specialized care, therapy,
and activities suited to the individual’s needs. One floor is designated solely for the care of memory impaired individuals. The unit features secured entryways and programming designed to enhance cognitive function and quality of life. The outside courtyard is also secured. Another floor is designated for those residents that require long term care. Lively and abundant with activities, the unit features a full time music therapist, entertainment and planned off-site trips. Residents have their own physical therapy gym, dining area, and private family visitation rooms. An additional floor houses the rehabilitative or sub-acute unit for patients who have been hospitalized and require a short stay at an advanced nursing care facility before returning to the comfort of their own home. Physical, occupational and speech therapies are given as needed to quickly regain the individual’s pre- hospitalization
status. Complex wound care, intravenous antibiotics, post surgical care, post stroke care, motor vehicle accidents, and hip or knee replacements, are just some of the many reasons that patients come to Royal Suites.

Therapy is given seven days a week, which far exceeds the industry standards. A specialized call bell system to ensure quick response is utilized. A Nurse Practitioner is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week if an emergent need arises. We are located in close proximity to a nearby Medical Center. For your convenience, tours are available seven days a week at any time of the day. Our compassionate staff boasts years of experience in caring, and it all comes together in new beautiful surroundings, allowing us to render unparalleled care.

Royal Suites has also committed itself to the surrounding community. There are frequent ongoing community education seminars to attend on many varied subjects.
