E-mail Marketing Tips
E-mail has become a very popular mode of communication across the world and a lot of companies are also using this medium to market their products and services.

Top Reasons why E-mail Marketing is popular:
  • E-mail is free and production cost is a lot less than direct mail or printed newsletters.

  • Fast - E-mail arrives within a few seconds of being sent.

  • Proactive - information is sent to a customer’s email address instead of waiting for customers to visit the company’s website.

  • Measurable - most e-mail marketing services now offer a way to track the opened emails, click-thrus, forwarded messages, bounce backs and unsubscribes.

  • Advertisers can reach substantial numbers of subscribers that joined the mailing list with just one e-mail

  • Growing number of people are dependent on e-mails and are checking them regularly.

  • Green – it’s paper free!

E-mail Marketing Tips
While many companies use E-mail marketing to effectively communicate with existing customers, there are many that send unsolicited bulk E-mail, also known as “spam.” As a result of this, a lot of servers and internet providers are now using filters to decrease the number of spam that users get.

The following are some basic e-mail marketing tips you can follow so that the emails you send out to advertise your products and services are not caught by spam filters:

  • The right selection of words - Don’t use words that are heavy spam triggers keywords such as sex, free, gambling and many more.

  • Be consistent – Be consistent with the E-mail’s look and feel. It will enable your readers to distinguish your newsletter instantly, thus not reporting it as spam accidentally.

  • Unsubscribe and Contact Information
Every newsletter you send out should contain a way for the reader to unsubscribe. Not doing so is an instant sign of spamming. You should also display your contact information (Phone, Fax and Address) clearly, as this greatly increases confidence in your email and your company, as well as conforming to spam laws. Contact information also allows a potential customer to contact you if need be.
