Denise Rounds
Owner of Bellezza Salons

I love sharing my thoughts about the services we do at Bellezza Salons. The team is experienced at makeup applications for brides, special occasions, photography and hidef video. I asked our experts to contribute their opinion about makeup and how they make their clients look flawless, their look last all evening, look fabulous on a Red Carpet and how to be camera ready.

Be Photo Ready

When preparing the skin for a photo or video shoot, the most important aspect to consider is that modern high definition photography provides perfect photo clarity, calling attention to fine lines and other skin imperfections. Skin must appear PERFECT under such scrutiny. Before the shoot, all stray hairs are waxed, to achieve the smoothest result. I then apply a hydrating mask to the face, and a firming treatment to the eye area to de-puff and tighten. After applying a moisture-rich cream to the face and body, our canvas is ready to be painted. Our airbrush makeup, designed to stand up to the most critical medium, is then applied. Colors are custom-blended to highlight and contour the face. Faux lashes are applied to give a defined, striking appearance to the eyes. Setting powder is applied, and our model is camera-ready!

Looking Flawless

I always make sure that I begin every makeup application with a cleaned, toned, and moisturized surface. My favorite products are from the Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup line – first I apply Absence, a cream to powder that controls oil naturally creating a perfect primer for the mineral foundation. Using either PurePressed or Amazing Base Foundations, my clients can’t believe the difference. Their skin truly looks flawless!

Looking Flawless

If you want flawless looking makeup, first you have to have flawless skin! The perfect canvas to any makeup application is good skincare. Skin that is exfoliated, hydrated and oil free will give you a more even, youthful and longer lasting makeup application.

Luscious Looking Lips

I prep the lips by exfoliating them with “Sugar Lip” – made with organic brown sugar. Now that the lips are smooth I apply “More Lip” plumper to attain the full pout. Next I use “Lip Definer” over the complete lip, then apply my favorite

gloss “Gold Fling”. If my client is going out for the night, I dot 24-Karat Gold Dust on the center of the bottom lip, then the client presses their lips together to blend – Luscious Lips!

Special Occasion Looks

Shimmer can make any look special – but it needs to be the right shimmer that accents the face beautifully and gives some drama. One technique I use creates a halo of light – using a fan brush and Jane Iredale’s 24-Karat Gold Dust, I dust it on the tops of the cheeks, over the finished eye makeup and to the collar bones. So glamorous!

Making Your Look Last

A common client question I am asked when doing special occasion makeup is, “How do I make my makeup last all night?” Our airbrush makeup achieves just that. Liquid foundation is sprayed onto the face in a super-fine mist to deliver superior coverage, and supreme, transferresistant staying power. Airbrush makeup is also fantastic for concealing broken capillaries, hypo/hyper pigmentation, and tattoos. The results are simply perfect, no touchups necessary!

The Beautiful Bride

My motto for the Bride is “look like you, only better”. A Bride should look at her pictures or video and see her radiant self – NOT big outlined lips and obvious eye shadow. Through email, I like to be part of the Bride’s vision for herself. She can share her ideas and dreams before our first meeting. Optimally we schedule a trial for hair and makeup, take some pictures, review the results and make any changes before the big day. I record the makeup we used so that I am completely prepared. The Bride’s Salon visit should feel like the start of the most beautiful day of her life.

Growing Your Lashes

A new product we have in the Salon is called LiLash. A few months ago I gave the product a try. After 3 weeks my sparse lashes began to transform into long, full, dark beautiful lashes. When I gaze up they nearly touch my eyebrows. Amazing!

Looking Flawless

My favorite way to flawless begins with the perfect color of PurePressed or Amazing Base Foundations applied with the correct foundation brush and set with the appropriate Hydration Spray.
