Bruce: Adult Male Black Labrador Retriever Mix. They call me Bruce, but you will call me the best dog you’ve ever met! I’m about 4 years old. Now the beginning of my life wasn’t the greatest. My owners never really had time for me, and I spent most of my first year living in a crate. As a result of this, I came to totally dislike my crate, so I don’t want a home where I will be crated. I love to go for walks and walk well on a leash. I’m also super friendly!

Scraps: Young Male Cairn Terrier Mix. WOOF! My name is Scraps and I am Beacon’s longest canine resident. I am a handsome cairn terrier mix and have been looking for a good home now for quite a while. OK, so I can be a little hyper, but with the proper amount of exercise I settle down. I LOVE playing ball, and have a favorite ball that will come with me when someone adopts me into my forever home. Please, if you come to visit me, don’t be intimidated. I REALLY do just LOVE people, and when I first come out to meet you, I can be a little over zealous with excitement! I have watched so many of my friends go on to their forever homes... I just wish someone would give me a chance, too.

Monty: Young Male Shepherd. Monty’s Story: Found in Atlantic City, he was picked up off the street by the AC SPCA. When they rescued him, he was being mistreated by some kids, who were throwing stones and bottles at him. Only being about 4-5 months old at the time, this poor boy was badly traumatized. He was taken into rescue and our trainer has been working with him. Although he is very shy and prefers the company of other dogs over people, there is NOT a mean bone in his body! He would do best in a home with another dog buddy, a fenced-in yard and a patient, loving family who’ll help to continue to help him gain confidence. He is a very special boy looking for that very special home.

Gilda:

Adult, Female, Short Hair Tortoiseshell Cat. Gilda as named after Gilda Radner, as she can be quite the clown. She is a lovely girl and very pretty torti. We recommend that she go to home without young children, as she does tend to get carried away sometimes while playing. She loves to play and hopes to find her very own Best Friend to play games with every day.

Theodora:

Adult, Female, Tuxedo Cat. ARE YOU LOOKING FOR ME? I’m Theodora. I am a really sweet 7-year-old tuxedo girl, looking for love and a forever home. I once lived in a home with a family of my own, and I really miss that. I would love to find a new home where I can sit in a window and pass the time away, watching the birds. Please, if you’re looking for a kitty with a lot of love to share, come out to Beacon and don’t forget to ask for Theodora.
